Eyebrow Waxing Classes

If the eyes are the window to the soul, then having flawlessly groomed eyebrows is the next best thing. Consider signing up for eyebrow waxing classes if you have the desire to help people find the perfect arch and shape for those all-important soul windows.

There is an eyebrow shape to complement every face and pair of eyes, but not everyone is savvy in the ways of waxing or shaping. It is an art and a skill afforded by solid training and practical experience. If you're looking for that training and experience, you'll find that many eyebrow waxing classes are often classified under esthetics, thanks to the face first focus of many esthetic programs. Cosmetology schools also offer a number of esthetic courses; classes in eyebrow shaping, threading, or even speed waxing (as per the well-known Paul Mitchell School's Skin Academy Department) will be listed there too.

If you've decided on a career as an esthetician, you may want to spice it up with a specialization in eyebrow waxing. Most people get their eyebrows plucked, shaped, waxed or threaded at the full-service nearest them; often the resident esthetician is responsible for meeting this client need. Most cosmetologists are also trained in the art of eyebrow shaping.

Training for Brow Perfection
Before exploring the list of 1,000 accredited esthetic schools that offer eyebrow waxing classes, make sure you meet the basic admission requirements: attendees must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, and be free from communicable/contagious disease. Keep in mind that you must have an interest in working closely with people; it is a necessity for helping clients to achieve their best look.

Eyebrow shaping or waxing courses are among many that are offered in a basic, 300-hour program at an esthetic school; others include massage, makeup application, skin diseases and disorders, and anatomy & physiology.

If you think that eyebrow waxing abroad is a desirable career path, pursuit of a CIDESCO diploma is an available option after graduation if you want to take your esthetics career to the next level. This diploma provides international qualification in esthetics and requires two-days of written and practical exams, in addition to three years of experience as an esthetician.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that, as of May 2008, about 26,300 people held skin care specialist positions and earned an average hourly wage of $15.40 (including tips and commission) and an average annual wage of $32,040. If you successfully complete esthetic school and become licensed to offer a wide range of skin care services like eyebrow waxing, you are likely to find more opportunities in this growing field.

Find the esthetic school that raises your eyebrows and get the essential training you need to help others find the perfect arch that frames the "windows to the soul."
