Who doesn’t like the idea of full pouty lips without going under the needle?! I know I do. So whenever I see a lip plumper, I usually test my luck and see if this one is the one. I have very sensitive skin, so just by rubbing my eyebrows, I get red. This was the case when trying lip plumpers in the past. Especially the ones with excessive cinnamon and peppermint oils that not only hurt but make my lips and the surrounding area cherry red.

Buxom Big and Healthy Lip Polish is infused with minerals and antioxidants to keep lips plump, soft, shiny and not sticky. I am a fan of Bare Minerals so trying out Buxom wasn’t a major decision. I chose Buxom in Leslie, exclusive to Sephora. This versatile neutral shade goes great over any shade, so I was definitely intrigued.

When I first applied, I instantly felt a cooling effect on the lips. Nothing serious, just a soothing feeling. Bare Escentuals opted to use mint oil as opposed to cinnamon oil, which definitely eliminates the burning feeling. I really like that it isn’t sticky. I stopped using lip gloss because my hair was always getting stuck on it and this had a slick feeling — I didn’t feel like my lips were being glued together. It smelled and tasted slightly minty, which was bearable considering I hate mint flavors. As for plumping, I did notice a bit of a difference that wore off once the cooling sensation did. But most importantly it did NOT make my lips red.

As a plumper, I’d say it has potential. I will continue to use this gloss because of it’s glossy qualities not particularly for its plumping qualities.
