Oklahoma! Where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain… The prairie grasslands and forests of Oklahoma lie in the Great Plains and US Interior Highland. Most of the state lies in Tornado Alley and experiences more than 50 tornadoes a year (an average higher than anywhere else in the world). Nicknamed, the Sooner State, Oklahoma is part of the “Bible Belt” and one of the most politically conservative states in the nation. As a major producer of natural gas, oil, and agriculture, Oklahoma has one of fastest growing economies in the US. Oklahoma City is the capital as well as the largest city in the state, followed by Tulsa, Norman, and Lawton. The state flower is mistletoe.
Oklahoma is also a fine place to begin a career in the exciting field of esthetics. Excellent career schools offer esthetician programs that provide the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain state licensing. Estheticians, aka professional skin care specialists, are trained in facials, waxing, body wraps, and laser treatments, as well as salon management, skin science, and more. After completing esthetician school in Oklahoma, licensed graduates find employment opportunities at day spas, plastic surgery offices, resorts, department stores, and salons.
